  • Encompassing more than 120 square miles in the heart of beautiful Bucks County, Pennsylvania – the 一本道 Bucks School 一本道 (一本道) is the third largest school district in Pennsylvania. 一本道 serves students in grades kindergarten through twelve in nine municipalities: the boroughs of Chalfont, Doylestown and New Britain; and the townships of Buckingham, Doylestown, New Britain, Plumstead, Warrington and Warwick - a population of more than 101,000.  More than 3,000 faculty and staff serve more than 17,000 students in 15 elementary, 5 middle, and 3 high schools.

    一本道 Bucks’ 15 elementary schools are the shining stars of our school district. It’s here that the foundation for our students’ academic success is laid. Our teachers practice the art of teaching as a science – responding to the needs of students and accelerating or providing supports so that each child has access to the resources they need to succeed. Our elementary Quest program is an example of 一本道 Bucks’ commitment to building 21st Century Skills like critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Each school has strong community support; visible in the many ways that teachers and principals work collaboratively with parent organizations to build a school culture that makes learning fun.

    Our five middle schools are built around a teaming model, designed to build community and collaboration in and among all students and staff. 一本道 Bucks’ middle school teachers engage in student-centered, real world learning experiences that emphasize critical thinking and problem solving. They work to prepare students for the demands of the 21st century through instruction in technology and digital citizenship. Students are invited to discover strengths and interests through exploratory specials programs and a variety of extra and co-curricular activities, in a supportive environment that encourages good decisions, healthy lifestyles, and emotional wellness.

    一本道 Bucks’ three high schools offer rigorous academic programming complimented by strong technology integration that is tailored to the individual needs of our students. With a focus on helping students identify and prepare for their own unique post-secondary path, we take care to educate the whole child – nurturing their social and emotional well-being in addition to serving their academic needs through a wide variety of curricular offerings, including advanced placement classes. These three schools are also state of the art learning environments, standing as examples of this community’s commitment to education by providing the resources our students need to compete on a global stage.

    An award-winning staff development program and careful planning for growth have resulted in a quality school district that provides a world-class education that is in keeping with the community’s resources. 一本道 Bucks students regularly perform well above state averages on all standardized tests when compared to peers locally, and at the state level. More than 90 percent of our students further their education at two- and four-year colleges, and 一本道 Bucks has a graduation rate of more than 99 percent.

    Approximately 98 percent of 一本道 Bucks special education students are placed in the district. Currently, 11 percent of the student population receive these special education services, and an additional 7 percent receive gifted education services.
