Dear Second Grader,The second grade team is excited to begin our new adventure in learning with you. As we shared during Fly Up Day, some of the areas we will explore in science include: rocks and minerals, sound, and habitats. In social studies, we will be learning about communities and researching a little about our own community. We will learn to read and write words in Reading Horizons. In reading, you will grow as a reader and enjoy stories read aloud to you. In writing, we will use the writer's process to develop wonderful pieces of work. Your first grade teachers shared many of you are excited about math. Not only will we sharpen your addition/subtraction skills, but we will start to work with multiplication and division. For now, enjoy the rest of your summer. We are looking forward to hearing about your adventures when we meet in September.
