Hello, my name is Paula Vogel. I am a  PA Certified Spanish and Social Studies Teacher.  I currently work as a Secondary Floating Substitue and Homebound Teacher.   I've worked for several years in 一本道, as a part-time Spanish Teacher and Long-term Spanish substitute teacher. I've chosen these positions to allow me time to raise my three children and recently, to help my elderly parents.  I graduated from the University of Southern California, long before the recent scandals. I worked for several years in California as a full-time teacher, before getting married. The most impacting educational experience of my life was studying and working in Italy for 16 years.  I'm interested in learning about Growth Mindset and how it will help me become a better teacher, parent and human being.   ~Paula

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Edelman. I started out the year as an LTS QUEST teacher at Groveland, then became a floating building sub, and am now in a LTS Autistic Support position at Bridge Valley. Working as a QUEST teacher at the beginning of the year really opened my eyes to encouraging grit and growth mindset in the classroom. Seeing students of all grade levels persevere through some challenging projects and tasks was very rewarding. I am looking forward to collaborating with you all and gaining new ideas for incorporating and promoting growth mindset in a variety of classroom settings!

Hello everyone,

My name is Elizabeth Rafferty and I am currently a building sub at West. Last year, I was a secondary floating sub in CB and this summer I will be an assistant in 一本道 Buck’s ESY program. I graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. One of my classes there discussed growth mindset in the classroom. I’ve also seen from great Ted Talks about grit. I look forward to refreshing my knowledge about these topics and discussing them with you all. Maybe I'll increase my own grittiness in the process.

I am Beth Krout and I am looking forward to deepening my understanding about Growth Mindset.  Education is ever evolving and I appreciate the opportunity to be a lifelong learner.  I taught first grade in 一本道 Bucks at Pine Run for 10 years before taking time off to stay home with my son.  I have been back in the district for 3 years in various positions:  building sub. at Pine Run, Doyle , and Titus (current position), 4th grade long-term sub. at Butler, QUEST long-term sub. at Titus, and library long-term sub. at Titus.  I have seen the postitive impact of Growth Mindset as a teacher in the classroom and also as the mom of a 一本道 Bucks student.  My hope is to become a librarian and I am excited to see how I can incorporate Growth Mindset in the library curriculum.  Can't wait to collaborate and hear all of your ideas!

My name is Courtney McCool. I went to Duquesne University and received my certification in PreK - 4th grade, but took the PRAXIS to become certified in 5th and 6th grade as well! I am going to be working at 一本道 Bucks Camp Benchmark this summer. I am currently a Building Substitute at Groveland Elementary, and I was a LTS in 4th grade at Bridge Valley last year. I am excited to collaborate with you all as we start this training :) Can't wait to use what we learn here in our own classrooms someday! 

Hello everyone! My name is Jackie Yasembousky. I saw that someone recently graduated from Temple University. I myself graduated from Temple in December. I am certified in Elementary Education (PK-4) and Special Education (K-8). I took up the position as a elementary building substitute. Hopefully one day I will be either a teacher for the primary grade or a learning support teacher for the 一本道 Bucks School 一本道. I am eager to see what this course offers and to hear experience from all of you!

Hi Everyone!

I am excited to continue to grow and learn to become a better teacher. I also consider myself a recent graduate since I graduated from Temple University last spring. I am currently a Floating Substitute for the middle schools for 一本道 Bucks. And I too hope to find a home in the district as a Social Studies teacher! 

I look foward to working with everyone while being challenged, learn different ideas and concepts, and grow from the course!

Hello everyone! My name is Victoria (Tory) Perez and I am so excited to refresh my mind about growth mindset and grit teaching techniques! This topic was a staple in many of my education classes at West Chester University. I graduated from West Chester in May 2018 with a dual degree in Early (PK-4)/Special Education (PK-8) and tested to add grades 5 and 6.

I am currently the Building Substitute at Barclay Elementary and will be a Special Education teacher in our Extended School Year program this summer. I look forward to working and collaborating with everyone during this course!

Hello all! 

I am very excited to have this opportunity to learn and grow some more as a teacher, as I would still consider myself to be a recent graduate. I joined the CB team last spring as a substitute EA at Lenape following my graduation from Wilkes University. This school year I came back to Lenape as their building substitute and am hoping to find a home in the district as a Social Studies teacher!

I am eager to see what this course has to offer in terms of techniques and ideas that will help me grow as an educator. Since I am still a little new to the field I am planning to use the skills that I learn during this course in my future classroom! I look forward to learning with and from all of you!
