Course Overview:The English/Reading 7 Curriculum is comprised of four concept-based threads to explore throughout the year: Identity, Quest, Community, and Choices. We'll be exploring two of these units, and ultimately our two Core Assessments (completed in third and fourth marking periods) will be a culmination of these skills.
Students will refine their active reading strategies for fiction and nonfiction texts, focusing on character, theme, and plot structure. The focus of writing in seventh grade is experimenting with descriptive, informative, and persuasive writing.
