    What’s this class all about?

    Enter room 514 at Tamanend Middle School and witness history coming to life!  Team Polaris students will explore the American Experience and gain an understanding of how our nation was formed. Along the way, students will investigate primary sources, interact with historical documents and visit historical sites within Pennsylvania. The eighth grade curriculum builds upon knowledge gained in previous grades and prepares students for the continuation of this course in 9th grade. We will study:

     

    1. British Colonial America
    2. The American Revolution
    3. A New Government
    4. Expansion of American Society
    5. The Civil War and Reconstruction
    6. Westward Development
    7. Industrialization and Immigration.
